Faut bien que je justifie mon salaire, et mon statut et que j'entretienne mon titre d'expert etranger (je ne m'en remettrai pas d'avoir obtenu ce titre, j'en suis encore plus fiere que de ma licence, mais je n'ai aucune raison d'etre fiere de ma licence obtenue grace a un intense cravachage par Jean, Bido et Alexis, qui seraient chaque soir dans mes prieres si j'en faisais, ce dont je suis le plus fiere au bout du compte c'est de mon licenciement!)

Et que je ranime la flamme du star system chez mes eleves encore ebahis d'avoir un etranger comme professeur (on n'en est qu'a la troisieme semaine de cours, ils ne sont pas encore blases, ils en sont encore a venir me chercher a la descente du bus, au cas ou je n'arriverais pas a traverser la cours de recreation toute seule, mais les Chinois font souvent cela)

Theme de la lecon: les douanes

Je trouve qu'il y a quelque chose d'un peu cruel d'expliquer a ces gosses comment traverser un guichet de douanes, alors que 40% n'ont jamais vu la mer (a une heure de train) et 80% Beijing. Les parents de Cassie, ma prof de chinois, lui ont dit pour l'encourager a aller etudier a l'universite: comme ca, tu iras un jour a Pekin. Tous les Chinois ne sont pas encore de grands voyageurs, mais cela changera plus vite qu'ils ne le pensent.  

Mais a mes etudiants, si on ne leur parlait que de leur quotidien, ce serait encore plus deprimant. Autant les faire rever un peu. Z'y allons pour les douanes!

Histoire d'oublier un peu que les dialogues sont inscrits dans le bouquin, j'ai apporte des accessoires pour qu'ils oublient un peu ce foutu bouquin, auxquels ils s'accrochent comme a une bouee dans une tempete au passage du Cap de Bonne-Esperance. Passeport, carton de cigarettes, appareil photo, flacon de parfum, une bouteille de dissolvant sur laquelle j'ai marque "4 l de whisky", une banane pour faire arme de poing, des pastilles a la menthe pour faire drogues et un cutter (dans la vie, il n'y a que le crime et la delinquance qui m'interessent...)

On demarre gentiment avec les dialogues du bouquin. Je leur fais utiliser les objets (histoire de me rendre compte qu’ils ne font pas du tout le lien entre dialogues et realite, le douanier a tendance a annoncer que le passeport est en regle alors que le touriste est encore en train de fouiller le sac a la recherche dudit passeport…). Je corse l’affaire en y ajoutant des objets non repris dans le sacro-saint dialogue.

C’est plus penible mais certains embrayent assez brillamment. On n’est pas encore a l’Actor’s Studio pour la performance, ni dans une banlieue americaine pour la fluidite du verbe, mais ils sont deja bien meilleurs que ce que je ne pouvais esperer et leurs petits camarades sont morts de rire, au moins ils ne s’emmerdent pas de trop. Le succes vient en deuxieme partie de cours ou je prends trois douaniers, et ou toute la classe doit faire la file avec une petite fiche pour faire un peu de roleplaying de passagers fraichement debarques d'un avion. Ils ont du mal a comprendre qu’ils devaient lever le popotin de leur chaise. Ce n’est pas une attitude franchement encouragee dans la pedagogie chinoise (s’il y en a une).

Mais j’ai une classe ou c’est la catastrophe. Il m’a fallu 10 minutes montre en main pour leur faire comprendre : « On ouvre le livre a la page 8 et on lit le texte tous ensemble. » Rien de plus, rien de moins. Et impossible de leur faire sortir s'ils comprennent ou pas: ils fixent tous leur cahier comme des statues de sel. Rien a en tirer, rien!

Dans ces cas-la, je deviens febrile … Inutile de vous dire qu’on en est pas encore au roleplaying avec eux. Il va falloir passer par une phase d'intense decontraction. Non les etrangers ne mangent pas les Chinois, et non, il n'y a pas de mal a dire qu'on ne comprend pas, cela m'aiderait plutot meme.

Et cerise sur le gateau: j'ai des eleves myopes. Au dernier rang, sans lunettes. Ils se passent une paire de lunettes a tour de role! Moi en tant que prof', je trouve cela genant pour leur enseigner quelque chose. Mais tout le monde, et eux les premiers, a ete etonne quand je leur ai propose de venir plus pres du tableau.
